All about Celya!
I am the youngest of six children and I am from a town so small, we didn't get a McDonalds
until a few years ago! I kid you not. But it was a great place to grow up in. Everybody knew you or worse
they knew your parents, siblings, dog, cat, you get the idea. Even though my parents were strict and I coudn't
go to any of the cool parties or anything, looking back on it, I wouldn't have changed a thing. If I hadn't
been stuck in the house, I would never have discovered reading or writing.
I wrote all the time when
I was young, but those stories will never see the light of day thank goodness. I love telling a great romance.
Being a die hard romantic I love just about anything that's thoughtful. I cherish the small things. One year
for my birthday, a friend sang happy birthday to me. I thought that was the most romantic thing ever. It was definitely
"he had me at happy birthday" moment. Okay, we were in a gym and he was a trainer, but still it was romantic.
Plus, it didn't hurt he looked like Morris Chestnut.
I love using Texas settings. Mostly because
that's where I live. The weather in Texas hardly ever changes. Even in the winter it has been known to be
about eighty degrees, and it has been cold as seventeen degrees. When the weather does change it changes big.
I try to make my characters as real as possible with a little quirkiness thrown in for good measure. I like
for my readers to be able to see themselves in that situation or someone they know.
Some of my favorite things:
Music: All Kinds(I have been known to
attend a Hootie and the Blowfish concert)
Food: Okay, I'm real picky, so my list is pretty short.
My all time fave is banana pudding, lemon ice box pie
Books: Depends on my mood. I love a good mystery,
a gripping romance without too much drama, or sometimes just a good old vampire book. I have pretty eclectic taste.
Must be all those writers I hang around!
Authors: Walter Mosley, Francis Ray, Brenda Jackson, Janet
Evanovich, Nora Roberts, Sandra Brown, Linda Howard, Adrianne Byrd, Beverly Jenkins, Rita Mae Brown, Mary Janice Davidson,
and too many to mention here.
Drinks: Again, I'm around a lot of writers. Cape Cod, Fat
Tire(beer brewed in Colorado)
My most favorite thing to do? Keep up with good friends
